Seven heights are available for greater application versatility, and drop doors have an articulating hinge that allows the open door to lay flat against the side of the container for tighter, safer storage.

ROPAKs IMPROVE YARN HANDLING, PLANT APPEARANCE AT INTERFACE

Replacing corrugated boxes with ROPAK™ reusable containers helped Interface Flooring Systems of West Point, Georgia, improve not only its material handling operations, but the appearance of its plant as well.

Interface Flooring Systems, one of the world’s largest commercial carpet manufacturers with annual sales of more than $1.3 billion, selected ROPAKs with two solid sidewalls and two drop doors. The stackable ROPAK containers serve as their own pallets, and include 4-way lift truck entry for easy handling.

“Although we store only about 700,000 pounds of yarn, we actually handle about 17 million pounds a year, and most of that gets handled two or three times,” said Don Ellison, Interface’s warehousing and backwinding manager. “There are lots of opportunities for container problems or damage, but we just haven’t experienced any with these new ROPAK containers. The durability has been very good.”

Tare weight is based on the 2-drop door black model and will vary based on color and configuration. Performance characteristics are based on uniform static loads and may be affected by concentrated loads and elevated temperatures. Standard drop door options include 1 or 2 drop doors on the 48″ side(s) or 1 drop door on a 48″ side, with 1 drop door on right, 40″ side (not available on 4025ns).
