We aim to customize and deliver stainless steel vial loading trays that are the best fit for YOUR application in terms of material, finish, thickness and handling. Here are some details:

Steel Grade / Type:

Vial and tube holders are made of one of two grades of stainless steel, each suited to different applications. Type 304 stainless steel is the industry standard, representing over half of all stainless steel production in the USA. It offers excellent corrosion resistance under normal operating temperatures and withstands standard autoclave sterilization cycles.

Type 316L stainless steel provides enhanced durability for more demanding environments. With 2-3% molybdenum content, this grade excels in high-heat applications such as depyrogenation processes. Type 316L is the preferred choice when your trays will contact distilled water or chloride solutions.

Surface Finishing:

We offer two standard finishes to meet your facility’s requirements. The 2B mill finish delivers a smooth, slightly reflective surface that’s both cost-effective and easy to maintain. With a roughness average (RA) of approximately 8 microns, this finish simplifies routine cleaning protocols.

The other option is a #4 brushed finish, also called a Florentine finish, which features directional grain polishing. This mechanical finish is commonly specified for welded assemblies and provides an RA of 25-30 microns. While further polishing can achieve a higher luster, this significantly increases cost.

Electropolishing is available as an upgrade to remove surface oxides, enhance brightness, and reduce surface roughness by 30-40%. This process improves both sterilization effectiveness and long-term surface maintenance.

Corner Welding:

For cleanroom and sterile environments, we recommend TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding, also known as fusion welding. This method creates watertight seams and eliminates corner gaps and crevices that harbor microorganism growth. TIG welding requires skilled hand-finishing but delivers the highest quality results.

For non-sterile applications, folded tab construction with tack welding provides structural integrity at a lower cost.

Depending on the thickness and grade, some steel tray designs can also be fabricated without welding, while maintaining adequate rigidity.

Slot Size / Perforation:

We can perforate or slot our trays to any design, specification or hole size that your need. We also manufacture stainless steel transport carts in custom sizes with various shelf configurations, including solid or mesh panels, and lockable sliding or pivoting doors.

Thickness, Guage and Weight:

Gauge Thickness Weight / sq. ft.
11 .120″ 5.040 lbs
14 .075″ 3.154 lbs
16 .060″ 2.499 lbs
18 .048″ 2.016 lbs
20 .036″ 1.491 lbs

PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA

Since 1992, Chemtech International Inc. has been a global Supplier of Choice for many domestic and international customers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. We offer Polycarbonate, Stainless Steel and ABS materials making our trays stronger and more durable for maximum performance and value. We offer custom design, engineering and manufacturing. No matter what your needs – we have a solution for you. We also represent Mold Fiberglass Tray Company and offer fiberglass composite trays.

  • Wide Range of Handling & Loading Functions for Large-Scale Vaccine Production

Vial loading trays offer a wide range of handling, storage and transportation functions in pharmaceutical processing. Our patented vial loading trays are 3-sided with a removable, easy-to-slide gate, which allows for easier loading and unloading.

  • Durable Vial Loading Trays for Vial Filling Machines

Polycarbonate trays are easier to clean due to their smooth, non-porous surface. Unlike metal materials, which are susceptible to scratching, the polycarbonate material of these loading trays can withstand a wide range of exposure and corrosive substances.

  • Perfect for For Vaccine Vial Filling Machines

No matter what type of vial loading machine your company uses, our vial loading trays are perfect for any job. Our pharmaceutical trays are lightweight and won’t corrode, dent, or rust like many other low quality non-certified metal vial loading trays on the market.

  • Easy Stacking Vaccine Vial Loading Trays

The patented design offers exceptional stacking and weight-carrying capability, and ensures these trays will not bend, dent, or crack even under heavy loads. Side handles ensure safety and ease of use. The loading trays are also much lighter in weight compared to metal trays, so they can be solidly stacked to save space and streamline the handling and loading process.

  • Efficient For Large-Scale Vaccine Production

Electro-Polished Stainless Steel vial loading trays may be used in temperatures ranging from -60° to 250° F (-51° to 121° C) The structural stability can also provide easy, seamless integration into automated machinery and robotic applications, further improving overall efficiency of the manufacturing cycle.

  • One-Time Expense Vaccine Vial Loading Trays

The lifespan of polycarbonate trays is a major cost benefit compared to plastic, metal and disposable trays. With proper use, cleaning (with standard washers) and maintenance, Vial loading trays are typically a one-time expense for many businesses.

  • FDA Approval of Large-Scale Vaccine Production Vial Loading Trays

Our vial loading trays are manufactured with the most sophisticated technologies and highest grade materials on the market today. All trays undergo strict quality control procedures to maintain high performance quality and to meet FDA Title 21 C 176.170 regulations.
